Agree with Wessa the Ponderosa cafe is a very popular haunt but riding up and down the pass is nothing special IMO. The road across the Llandegla moors (A5104) is far better, as said earlier this year 50 mph average speed cameras were installed. I know of someone who about 15 years ago was caught at 136mph going over the moors, knob, as it was his second ban in a few years he was luck not to end up in jail. He now plods around on classic bikes.
I only live a few miles from the M56 so could easily meet you guys there and we can decide what route we take into mid Wales.... Wessa
OK, it is about 2.5 hours if we ride direct from Cheshire to the bunkhouse. If you want to go to the Ponderosa via the Horsehoe Pass I would add another 30 or 40 mins to the trip (this will include a cup of tea)..... So depending on how many stops you want on the way down and what time you want to arrive at the bunkhouse will determin on what time you need to be at the M56 services.. Wessa

What sort of time are you all looking at getting to the bunkhouse as me and the wife are going a day early so would like to meet up with you all on the Thursday. Tucker
3 hours 38 mins to get to the services. add on 1/2 an hour to meet @dilligaf at Carlisle. If I leave Glasgow about 9am cos I wont get to bed till midnight. That put me in Carlisle about 10.40 so leave there about 11am. If we swap numbers by pm before we set off we can up date as we go. About 1pm at the services J14 M56 Wrexham by 13.45 and llanidloes by 5pm with a stop At the Horseshoe If we split into two groups you guys can meet @andyc1 earlier and arrive much earlier.
Hi Sprinter not sure if you are coming down the M6, but there is a services just south of Carlise (it is Moto Southwaite), just a thought as it will be easy to find. Wessa
