Speed triple on a 63 plate, revs sitting at 1400 on tickover on start up dropping to 1200 when warm. Tried a soft reset but still no joy, could it be temperature control switch

Thanks for the replies, i have her booked in next week at Triumph on diagnostics to double check there are no underlying issues. I did have the Arrows map put on her last year, so not sure if there is an issue with that or a simple temperature control switch

Off to IOM at the end of the month so she needs sorted by then

1200rpm is the correct idle speed for a Speed Triple

Edit: - Extract from service manual

On my 16 plate Speed Triple 1400 for about 15 seconds in summer and a bit longer in winter
    Settles at 1200 when warm
I believe the fuel map allows for a slightly lower tick over at higher temperatures such as when sitting in traffic.

    So back from IOM TT.....
Tickover sitting at 1400 rpm, when throtteling off there doesnt seem to be much engine breaking below 2000 rpm

Booked into triumph at Newcastle to put on diagnostic to see if this highlights anything

Also asked them to reset service indicator as due in 518 miles even though the bike has been serviced - they said it would cost one hour labour to check bike and reset as they don't just reset??????

Is there anyone in the North East who can help instead of having to pay all this money for a reset

Are they joking!....If they didn't reset the service indicator they haven't finished the service IMO
....And if it's not idling properly then that's not the only thing they haven't done.
Think I'd be having words with Triumph customer services.

Would be good if someone on forum could do the diagnostic in the Newcastle area. Got the arrows map put on when I fitted Delkevic end cans so should be spot on but seems to be running very rich. Just serviced 1000 miles ago by my brother who owns his own garage but unable to do anything with ECU

    Any help would be appreciated

Apologies, I assumed it had been dealer serviced.

I could do the reset and diagnostics via TuneECU but west Cornwall is a rather long way to travel.
You or your brother might consider setting up with TuneECU and a bluetooth dongle to do it yourself (it's not rocket science). Search the forum and you'll find plenty of info on the subject.

Well I have bitten the bullet and booked her into Dragon motorbikes in Durham. They will custom map engine to Delkevic end cans and smooth out delivery and hopefully release a few ponies in the right place

Cost is £300 but think it is well worth the money to get her sorted

 You should have a look at the dealers & workshop section of this forum
Second page is a bit of a horror story about Dragon motorbikes :(
    It’s up to you mate!
