I am about to buy 2016 Tiger 800 XCA with 1425 miles on it. The seller tells me the traction control light is on when he starts it up, and stays on for a little while when riding, then goes off. Is this normal? he said he will have it checked by the dealer where he bought it. I am only concerned that this might be a more serious problem. Anyone know anything about this?
    Thanks for any info.

As I understand it. The TC lamp will stay on during start up & stay on until the bike reaches approx 10 mph. The control unit that controls the TC & ABS should interpret the data from the wheel speed sensors as soon as the bike moves ( takes about 5 seconds). The TC lamp will stay on all the time if the TC system is switched off.

Same on my BMW with the ABS. Since I never had a Triumph, I didn’t know but suspected. Thanks for the info.

On my Explorer the ABS lights up on start up and stays on for a minute or so after setting off.

The traction control does Not come on at start up. My manual says if it does come on then there is a fault.

Thanks everyone, yes I know about ABS testing, but never heard of TCC testing. I will get it checked out before I continue with the purchase

Even if it's a joint lamp with Traction and ABS is should only be on for a few meters riding not a few minutes.

My abs same as above goes off after 5mph - 2007 Tiger 1050 ABS.

Separate ABS and TC lights on the 800.

TC light should stay off and only light up when you switch the TC off through the set-up menu.

Would recomment it checked out at a dealer.
