Evening scouting mission completed. There are two Indian restaurants, a Chinese takeaway, 2 kebab shops, 1 chippy and lots of pubs in Llanidloes. Oh and a Subway.
When I did the rideout routes last week I stopped in the Unicorn Hotel. They have a restaurant that will sit about 30. The Saturday of the GMU is Carnival day in Llanidloes and it is likely that it will be difficult to get a table. In fact the Unicorn already has one booking. As it’s the last night of the GMU I was wondering if we would like to have a farewell evening meal. For those stopping in town the Unicorn is a 5 min walk from the two hotels that most have chosen to stay. For those in the Bunkhouse I would suggest booking a minibus. (I’m reliably informed there is one). If we want to do this then we would need to pre-order the food. But at this point in time I’m only interested in numbers. So please let me know. Thought we were having a BBQ at the bunkhouse??? But if everyone goes for this I’ll go with the flow Yes there is a minibus I’ve seen it Wether we’d get it on that day with all that’s going on ???? People at the bunkhouse said they would do taxi runs but there was no mention of the carnival? It only takes 20-30minutes to walk
I’m sure if there is a BBQ at the Bunkhouse then people stopping in town will come along. I only found out about the carnival last week.
I'm up for either, BBQ at the bunkhouse has some appeal, but happy to have a meal in town if that is what the final call is.... Wessa
We can do both, so yes how about a BBQ on the Friday after the first rideout and go to the Unicorn on the Saturday. The Bunkhouse has a BBQ so no need to bring one.
I arrive on the Saturday and stopping overnight, can’t get there earlier as I’m in the IOM for the Southern100 road races and don’t get home until the Friday. Prefer the Unicorn but will go with the flow.
Kelvin Jones ,Dwynwen Jones and David Vincent have their names down for attending the GMU, but i can't find their names to send a PM about the T-Shirts..does anyone know who they are?
BBQ sounds fine with me. Danger of a split group - we need a Dic(k)tator to tell us what to do. Don’t know you good folks (yet) but Agent Orange seems a likely candidate.
