Hi all I recently purchased a Daytona 955i 2005 just wandering if anyone could point me to the best online parts site(searching through Google to not great avail)also any knowledge of anyone reletaviley close to me(maybe 50 mile radius) of waterlooville Hampshire u.k that I could go to for advice and servicing,I have a few minor bits to replace a brake fluid resevoir and both seats are loose looks like I need some kind of internal bracket on both, also I have an issue when riding only been short rides recently if I stop and turn off engine won't fire up again pump primes a few times but after a few attempts all displays completely disappear even with it in neutral clutch pulled in and stand up seems something is killing the battery or problem with starter motor or alternator or indeed electrical the bike had a new battery has a data tag alarm, dyno jet power commander, new rectifier regulator and hot grips,I read somewhere they leave there Daytona on a constant trickle charge when garaged not in use would this help?any advice would be greatly appreciated Kind regards Dan
So often it's an electrical supply problem, so here's what I would do : 1. Charge up the battery overnight, then leave for an hour before installing back in the bike. 2. Using a volt-meter check the voltage across the battery terminals For correct operation it must be AT LEAST 12.6 volts. 3. Now start the engine and allow to warm up. Using a volt-meter check the voltage across the battery WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. It should be at least 13.5 volts. Do the above and report back with results, and we'll see where to go next, OK?
Many thanks Dave I'm away for a few days but will do as soon as get home and report back results thanks mate
Hi Brian many thanks I agree alarm is a nuisance and more than likely using a fair amount of power I shall look into the blanking or removal and will definately look for my local hinckley group I'm guessing Hampshire has one much appreciated for your advice kind regards mate
