It doesn't matter if it's raining or not, you'll never get those leathers on, unless you add some fairy liquid, (ooer!)

My daughter's MG ran like a bag of spanners at first, not done many miles with previous owner and had been stood around for a couple of months. Kept chucking redex in the tank (was never a believer) and eventually it ran sweet. Took about 3 or 4 tankfuls through, but now runs spot on. I was reallyy surprised how sweet it is now. Thought all that fuel additive stuff was shite, maybe still is, but I used it and problem solved.

I think you’ll find most additives like Redex are paraffin based. Diesel thickens in extreme cold and paraffin/kerosene dosing keeps it flowing and acts as a solvent on thick deposits. Conversely it also works as a solvent in petrol systems where the base fuel is too volatile to do the job once it has atomised/vapourised.
In Bosnian winters we dosed the diesel but at -30C also had small fires under the sump to thin the oil and allow us to start some reluctant trucks designed for more benign climates.....

Went for a 150 kms, 3 hr rideout today on Trixie, with a pal on his outfit. Most places we went it had rained, but hardly a drop on us. Stopped at a lounge café for a coffee and cake served by a member of the Adams family. Cake was really good tho' !!!!

Put a new front tyre (Avon Storm 3D X-M, thanks for asking) on the bike the other day - Tuesday if you must know - courtesy of A18 Motorcycle Tyres near Crowle, N.Lincs. Done less than 20 miles on it so far but it feels much better than the old Avon Storm that was on previously and way past its best, though still perfectly legal.
A18 are not the cheapest around but are fairly local to me, and that offsets the time and expense of going through to Leeds. Plus the owner, Andy, is very knowledgeable and efficient, even to the point of cleaning up and re-greasing the wheel spindle which had got a bit of rust on it.
He has a 900 Thunderbird, tuned to give around 100bhp at the rear wheel, and a very pretty metallic orange Norton Commando sitting next to it in his workshop:cool:. Well worth the trip in my opinion.

Been in the garage checking over my BPOS and loading the PORTALOO with more crap than I’ll ever need
Two and a half hour ride tomorrow to get to the into the valley rally
Last year was detours everywhere because of the Lycra w@nks doing the tour de Yorkshire
Looking like they’re in a different area this year :) so hopefully will be able to stick to route :p
