What kind of MPG do the Bonneville's get? I work 46 miles away from home so 92 miles a day. I drive a diesel gas sucking truck. Surely it will be cheaper but just curious....

More details of the bike please - model/year/engine.

My 2010 T100 efi would give me an average of +50 mpg.

Don't have anything specific. I am just starting to check them out and am doing some research. I am just looking for a ballpark average

I get around 100-130 miles before the fuel light comes on on my thruxton, at first I was pissed off as it meant I had to stop riding to fill up but then it does give my arse a rest!

I just did the maths on my fuel mileage , on my 2009 Bonneville America I have averaged on std motor/std tune 45/48 miles per imperial gallon ! On my non std motor fully tuned to suit 905 cc big bore with high compression pistons and ported cylinder head I get between 55 to 60 miles per imperial gallon , do your own maths , highest mileage achieved in klms litre 23 klms lowest averaged (towing a 100kg trailer) 17.5 klms litre , but solo/two up usually 19 to 20 klms litre, this is over 8yrs of ownership and 107,000 klms

    Cheers capt

Both bikes have pretty much the same stats
60 miles a day commute,50/50 motorway and city traffic

Average overall 50mpg, £12 a tank for 120 miles (20 miles remain in the tank by the time I fill up with the warning light on)

    On the motorway:
80mph i can get 50 mpg at best
    70mph I get 60
    60mph I can get 80s
In London stop start about 15mpg:(

Premium fuel makes it 10% better for me, almost making the additional cost worthwhile

I have been doing this commute for 5 years so know the averages and costs very well:)

Spirited riding greatly reduces mpg to 35/40mpg
Driving like Miss Daisy can get me in the 80s

My street twin (900 bonnie) returned anything between 55 to 80 mpg depending on riding..

I have a new Street Twin and have been getting 65-70 MPG. But I also don't ride too aggressive. Also engine is new so should improve a few MPG as the engine fully breaks in.
