Ok as I said it’s a jammy question about jam Simply what’s the difference between jam and a conserve? I think it may simply be about sugar levels but I’m not sure it’s that simple.
I thought I would ask in here and see where this led to , knowing you lot I’m sure it will have nothing to do with jam Actually I did google it but didn’t really get a good description of what the difference is.
Butter, then jam, then cream, then some more cream on my scone. Love them, nowt better. Home made with that cludda cream stuff
Only one way to eat porridge , cream and salt. Yes salt not sugar, jam or a crepe egg. Have to say that’s a totally new one to me. Porridge and a cream egg .....
Proper cream tea that, none of that Devonshire weirdness! Cornish all the way.... (roads are better too)
Got to agree that conserve is a posh word for jam. One conserves fruit by boiling it with sugar and putting it in glass jars doesn't one ? On the other hand, yer slap jam on yer bread mate.
You only asked 2/3 of the question.......you missed out compote (which has nothing to do with gardening and soil improvement) Conserve - whole fruit in thick sugary gunge Jam - fruit boiled to destruction in thick gunge (homogenous gloop) Compote - whole fruit in light juicy widdle
