Ok as I said it’s a jammy question about jam :)
Simply what’s the difference between jam and a conserve?
I think it may simply be about sugar levels but I’m not sure it’s that simple.

I thought I would ask in here and see where this led to , knowing you lot I’m sure it will have nothing to do with jam :)
Actually I did google it but didn’t really get a good description of what the difference is.

Only one way to eat porridge , cream and salt.
Yes salt not sugar, jam or a crepe egg.
Have to say that’s a totally new one to me.
Porridge and a cream egg .....

Got to agree that conserve is a posh word for jam. One conserves fruit by boiling it with sugar and putting it in glass jars doesn't one ?
On the other hand, yer slap jam on yer bread mate.

You only asked 2/3 of the question.......you missed out compote (which has nothing to do with gardening and soil improvement)

Conserve - whole fruit in thick sugary gunge
Jam - fruit boiled to destruction in thick gunge (homogenous gloop)
Compote - whole fruit in light juicy widdle
