i was up whitewall's lodge yesterday, there were a fair few bike's up there, a bloke with a young lad about 8 years old were dribbling over my thruxton, the father of the lad asked if he could take a photo of him stood by my bike,i said better than that,i will sit him on it, the father couldn't thank me enough for doing the good deed.i must admit the lad was very careful,it made his day,i was happy to oblige.

This takes me back. Sounds like how I got my love of motorcycles. My neighbor's son took me for a ride when he got a Honda dream, and there I was. Love at first ride. Never got over the feeling, and hope I never do!

That’s why bikes are so great, unless you have a super car costing as much as the average house, not many want to have their picture taken with a four wheeler. Bikes rock, end of.

    Know what you mean.

Had my first ride as a lad and I’ve never got over the feeling even as a 67 year old. Once a day and twice on a Sunday, that’s if she’ll let me ;);)

Similar stories. Neighbour's little lad was really excited when he had his photo taken sitting on a couple of my bikes, just as I was when I first sat on a bike - my Uncle's '58 Dommie not long after he had bought it new and had ridden it down the old Great North Road from Stockton to Corby. Proper British bike with proper British bike oil leak 'an all.

Rich, old British bikes don’t leak oil, they’re just marking their territory ;)
