I did as you suggest well over a week ago. I have not received an acknowledgment much less any suggestion of a resolution, so I pretty much am at a standstill at this point.

I don’t think that regulations apply the same. The only hope I have would be for them to decide to stand by their product and reputation. Companies don’t expect someone to spend much energy when it comes to small claims. At best if I continue to be ignored or am told tough luck I’ll cost them as many future sales as I can. I will keep trying to contact them till I reach that point.

No, no missed replies so far. A little communication would go a long way. I sent another email out today, asking for an update and expressing some disappointment in the lack of response so far. In my first contact I had even offered to send the part back so they could take a look themselves. No answer to that either.

Finally fitted the R&G radiator cover to my Street 765RS (I bought the guard at the NEC back in November, yes I know, but you can't rush these things!).
Doesn't take long to fit, just cut the sticky foam into 10mm strips and fix to radiator side of the guard, then loosen off the top fixings and remove o/s lower bolt, offer up the guard then tighten/replace the bolts, the n/s lower side is held in place by a zip tie.
Now this is where R&G usual quality was lacking, the zip tie supplied was too big to go through the slots in the lower guard, it says feed it through the 'lower radiator matrix' which is when I found that the slots in the guard were vertical when it would have been easier if they horizontal, I used a smaller zip tie & fixed it OK, just had the feeling R&G should have done better? Hi Ostekuste, I had lots of successful dealings with TEC Bike Parts in the UK and never had an issue with parts quality or service feedback.

With your permission I would like to send a copy of your comments and see what the UK boss has to say about this? Not sure what his reaction will be as you purchased via TEC USA, but we can try ?

    Hi all,

Yesterday I gave the old girl some tlc ready for a decent ride out next weekend. Been very busy at work, and the weather has been poor so she’s been sat in the garage staring at me all forlorn like.

Itching to get out again. Bloody LOVE this bike.

Problem with my brake switches - rear one failed a couple of months back and I received the new switch soon after. tried fitting it sooner but it was bloody cold and my garage isn't heated
Friday evening before I left for home and I did the usual check - tyres, indicators, high beam, horn and brake light...no brake light!!!!
Took it very carefully going home and had a look at it Sunday, soon worked out the front switch just pulls down under the brake leaver, it is held in place by two locating lugs - push fit nothing fancy. A quick spray of WD40, and a once over with some tissue and it worked...
The rear was more hassle, foot pedal removed, exhaust off to access bolts on the inside. The difficulty was with the connection which is behind the engine and tucked into the inside of the frame, need children's fingers to get inside and release it, but worked it out and fixed the new switch in place.
In all an hour or so but now happy all is working.

I had never thought of that, a mobile cheese grater strapped to my radiator, best clean the flies off before using it!

I appreciate any help and did send another email to TEC USA yesterday expressing some dissatisfaction with the lack of any response so far. I got an email today saying sorry for the delay but that Dave from TEC England said basically the same as their response which was “ We have sold many for the Street Twin bikes and never had a problem. He even said might be a problem with the lever or the switch (which is fine because I reinstalled my own lever which works fine). At least a response and minute acknowledgement that there could be an issue, but no offer of a solution. Again if you can help feel free and thanks. At this point as DD has said, its the principal of the thing.

    Nice bike Andy,
Looks like the newer version to my mates, he let me have a go and I loved it, sooooo much more power than the original Super Duke that I had.
I am sure you can see DD sleeping it off under the bus!

Thanks. George and Dave have both been in contact. I am waiting for the return address and will send the affected parts back for them to examine. If all goes well I will still try a new set of levers if they find the problem.

i was in the KTM dealers in Perth and they seemed to have a few different 1290s..the R,S,SE,Adventure & GT although not sure if they were all current models?

Edit..probably only one was called the Superduke though:confused:

Right I am going to say it then hide behind DD's sofa! ... KTM is the best build quality bike I have ever owned, don't know if it's because their roots lay in Moto Cross and Enduro, but they are just so well put together and the quality of the components is fantastic!

Very smart, deffo adds to the overall look of the bike. Can I ask what are those crash/scratch protectors called on your petrol tank? And where can you get them from? Thanks

Had bike retuned three weeks a go, to suit the 905 cc big bore with high compression pistons and my porting work, well I serviced my front forks today, drained and replaced fork oils then refueled and test run, had 204klm on trip meter and I couldn't get 9 litres in !!! That's better than 22 klms/ltr , so not only did the tuning get me more torque & horsepower but my fuel economy is outa sight better TOO.
Well pleased, dilli you need to get your bpos tuned ... see what improvement you get ? Start with my early tune installed and then begin the dyno tune works from there.. !

    Cheers capt
