For anyone looking for a good breakfast when we're away the following places are recommended:)
    Monday Tyndrum..http://www.therealfoodcafe.com/uploads/1/2/9/4/12945808/breakfast_menu.jpeg
    http://www.therealfoodcafe.com/menus.html

Tuesday,a 5 min walk from the hostel is the Inchree chalets there is a pub where they could do breakfast for us i've to give him a phone a couple of days before if anyone decides to go there
    http://www.inchree.co.uk/

Wednesday the Hostel does cooked breakfasts we just have to let them know the night before

Thursday The Royal Hotel which is not far from the Hostel apparently does a great breakfast, i would have to phone them a few days in advance

    Friday
I was going to stop off at the Glenshee Ski Centres "Tea at the Shee" as we will be passing it, it's 9 miles from Braemar

Rich, is the intention to try & ride home all in one hit? I personally would like to divvy it up over 2 days, covering the lions share on the Sat? If you guys are going with option 1, I'll book something around the 300/350 mile mark for myself.

Don't forget to contact the local Co-op stores to ensure they've enough JD on the shelves.

Had plans to go to Scotland this May with my mate Gordon :)
Unfortunately he’s still feeling the effects of a hip replacement he had before Christmas and can’t ride a bike for a few months yet and doesn’t think he’ll be able to do the trip :(
So I messaged @Dougie D and asked him if it would be possible to tag along from the Thursday stop at Braemar :)
Thanks to his efforts I’ve salvaged my Scotland trip as I already had the Thursday and Friday booked off from work :)
This gives me 3days riding and 2nights away:)
So a massive thanks from me to Dougie for his sterling efforts in organising this trip and allowing me join in at this late stage :)
Cheers Dougie I owe you a drink :p

Well well well, the wife's booked us a cottage in a village called Taynuilt for nine nights going next Monday. I've just had a look on the map and found it's just about 25 miles from Tyndrum. So I think a little recce will be on the cards, try out the food at least if not the beer.
Check out the roads too. Really looking forward to the trip in May. In fact I think I'll get some of that visor rain repellent stuff.

The end of the pier restaurant in Oban is very good, and sitting there watching the sun set over the island and the ferries arrive.

Unfortunately it closes for the winter and opens some time in March. I'm hoping it's early March. Otherwise I'll have to wait till May.

I've booked myself a room at the Balmoral Hotel (looks like a pub) in Moffat for the Saturday night 12th May. So that's a nice easy 170 miles late Saturday afternoon ride, a few beers, a curry maybe, a film and a good kip. Then a leisurely breakfast on Sunday and another easy 110 miles to meet the rest of you at Tyndrum. I say maybe a curry, I might get into the spirit of things and have haggis and chips.

Andy, there is a good Indian grub place just down from the Balmoral...next to the hardware shop and down the stair, very tasty! Our Guzzi club overnighter booze up was over the road in the Buccleuch Arms in January

Have you chosen your route from Moffat to Tyndrum? The M74 to Glasgow and up the side of Loch Lomond is the most direct but pretty boring. Conversely the 701 from Moffat to Edinburgh is a popular bike route that gives you a run up the M9 to Stirling then sweeping bends all the way through to Tyndrum.
