Except Norton are chugging along. I think there are just about enough really wealthy people who value ‘exclusivity’ (their word - mine would be ‘conspicuous consumption’ or ‘wad flashing’) over something cheaper and more readily acquired. It is quite clear the biggest difference between a Thruxton R and a Commando Sport is the price tag and desler network. In 1972 that would have seemed silly. Only British Leyland failed to improve the product in a long production run......
It'll be beautifully finished and I love the Spitfire, but not as a bobber, not for me. Incidentally I had a CCM R30 about 15 years ago and it was a bloody hoot. Fantastic bike, completely insane and totally impractical but great fun!
