Replaced my split fork gaiters yesterday with the new hopefully better quality ones.
Done this job twice before so nice and easy and quickly done. Feeling pleased with myself and then realised I have new headlamp brackets on order so smug look wiped off face sharpish!:mad:

Had some Thruxton Ohlins put on my Street Twin today. Obviously taller shocks than standard for the StTwin, and even with the top spacers removed the bike leans over on its side stand like a drunken teenage girl on a typical Saturday night out. In fact so far over that with my dodgy hip I haven't got the strength to bring it upright. The ride height is fine when up, but getting there is beyond me.

So two options for the solution: i) always carry a pillion so she can push me upright then climb aboard before we bimble off, or ii) get a longer side stand made up.

    Poll?

Creative thinking Tez, the third option. I was also thinking of a wooden block on a string to throw down when I need to drop the stand - the string so I can pull it up again and stick it in my pocket.

Put stiffer springs in the front forks , then drop the front down a bit as has less 'sag' and problems fixed it will handle better 'sharper' TOO I put longer than std rear shocks on too. done this on my 2009 America...!
    Cheers capt.

Cheers mate. I put some TEC front springs in last March time so def expect sharper handling now with the higher back end. But the excessive lean is simply because the Ohlins are designed for a much taller bike. Anyway, its in the workshop atm waiting for a time slot to lengthen the side stand. In the meantime I have the onerous duty of putting some miles on a T120.

Decided to get on with swapping my scotoiler over from Doris to Tracey yesterday, all went well, came off Doris fine, spent an hour cleaning and adjusting Tracey’s chain in preparation. Came to putting the stuff together but found the vacuum tube I had was too short, plus I found 2 of the screws holding the hugger on seized halfway out!! Oh well, put everything back and took her out for a test ride.

Well my new headlamp brackets arrived from TEC - so wasted no time in removing the front forks (for the second time this week)!

Pleased with the look - better than the stock bracket
