Something with flexible frames should be fine. Take your lid along for the fitting and choosing so you know they'll be comfortable - you'll get some odd looks but what the heck.
I wear aviator style prescription glasses with photochromatic lenses (Transitions). .........perfic. Wire frames easily slide into Bell helmet, no need for tinted visor etc.
I wear glasses and a full face helmet with no problems. I always try on my specs with any new helmet I attempt to wear. Not had an open face helmet for years, but if I went for one I would most likely try to get a pair of goggles which will fit comfortably over the glasses - at least that's my theory (at the moment!).
I also wear glasses and have done without too many problems for years, I would be concerned with the goggle type illustrated as I see no ventilation and suspect they may mist / steam up in bad weather
I used to be the fastest biker in my area as a teen. All the lads used to say how do you make that bike corner. I used to say what corners?? Never saw them till I was there OMG I thought then I wore glasses after that onwards!! They always took the piss from then onwards!!
There is y-tube on this very subject, been racking brain, 3/4 lid, t-2 Goggle's, I think it is down to how big your glasses are, but this chap from what I remember is doing fine
I use glasses with a 360 hinge which allows for a lot of rough handling without damage, I think they are available from Boots. When it is cold I wipe them with FogEx cloth, costs £5 online for a winter When it is frosty or drizzly, I use contacts, Acuvue Oasys are very good for water retention and Oxygen breathability, so deal with the wind will. I've been wearing contacts for decades, about two years ago I stated to have problems with close stuff when wearing the contacts, reading etc.. I started to need a pair of reading glasses which was a bit of a pain. I mentioned it to the optician and his answer was to wear only one contact lens, that way I have one eye for distance and the other for reading. It sounds bizarre but it works perfectly and has the added bonus that a box of lenses lasts twice as long.
Hi Odgy, I wear specs ( varifocals ) with an open face Arai and a pair of goggles over the top of my specs. All works fine, I do get a small amount of misting when I stop and go in doors which is rectified by taking my specs off and tripping up over the dog lol. Seriously though all good but I am used to wearing an open face ....
I am short sighted and wear contact lenses when riding. Only time I get some issues is when my eyes goes a little dry. When that happens the itchiness kicks in and the amount of blinking I do.....I might as well keep the eyes closed
Not something I tend to suffer from now but when I used to work the air con in some offices caused dry eyes. I used to carry a small bottle of eye drops made for re-hydrating and lubricating dry lenses. It's marvellous stuff, you should get some. It gives instant relief.
Cheers buddy. I will defo look it up When the eyes are dry, it gets so annoying. As if some dust particles are constantly in your eyes I will check out my local opticians
I've tried all sorts and they all work pretty much the same. You can get it from opticians and chemists but they also do it in superdrug and Wilco. The bottles are only small so no problem to pop one in you pocket.
