I am on my mission to convert my Bonneville T120 to a Bonneville with Scrambler genes. I will post my progress here: please feel free to give advice 1. V&H high exhaust and the remove of the X-cat
I have two options, one is the Slammer seat (not yet arrived) with the black givi rack and a givi trekker topbox for touring The other is this
I will change the front wheel to a 19", this to get more tyre options. A set of Alpina Raggi with black rims and hub will arrive in about 6 weeks. I guess a set of Bridgestone trail wings will be mounted on them.
Got me a set of the Ohlins for the Thruxton R. My biggest concern is to adapt them to fit the Bonneville. The swing arm is very different so I will have to machine out other parts for the bottom fixing point. Handed them over to a local workshop, not many of those around anymore. Hope to get them ready before the weekend, the man that runs the workshop used to race BSA 500 and the G50 , a good man so he jumped on this project with a grin
That is looking good Henry - some excellent work there. I wondered what car you had under the cover in the first set of pictures - looks like the "R" out of TVR
A decent Scrambler Tank. The paint on my T120 is lovely imo. But a little to nice for a Scrambler, so I bought a Matt grey one. I am considering a custom paint on it maybe a two color option painted like the old Scrambler's. I painted my old 900 scrambler with the color old English white from the Austin 3000 car. Turned out great, but will go darker this time. I will use the fuel pump from the old and then put the cranberry silver in a box. Waiting for the time to put it back to original Scrambler 900, sold 2015. Covered a trip to the Alps, true Germany, Austria and the Dolomite in Italy. Should have kept it...3
Shocks back from the workshop and they fitted perfect. Next is the handlebar and the problem with to short break and clutch cable. ...
