B6B0F715-3B21-4CA1-933A-29ED50D1E65C.jpeg Winter has finally arrived here. Personally I wouldn’t go out on the bike when it’s like this but would you?

No thanks don't think I would be riding my bike in this sort of weather.Always think you should only see snow on Christmas cards and calendars.

On a road bike......Nope! The years of discretion are upon me!

As a 23yr old I used to ride my trail bike in the snow but even then learnt a hard lesson hitting sheet ice under a layer of snow.

Right now, with snow falling outside, I am pondering the wisdom of having recently sold my Subaru.......

All weathers me, commute 60 miles each day.
So long as I can get on the bus route which is salted and then on the motorway then no problem.

A liberal coating of Scottoiler 365 and a regular clean/service of the brakes etc.

I would much prefer to ride in the snow than take the train into work

Last time I rode in the snow was in 1980 on my FS1E to my job at International Supermarket. It was about 2 Feet deep snow, kept falling off......what a laugh........aahhh ! those were the days.

Trail bikes are a proper giggle in the snow, sharpens the skills perfectly, last one I had was a KLR 250 and yes I dropped it, embarrassingly within sight of home after a 10 mile commute.

No ropey finishes go to Royal Enfield's. Never seen a bike look so rough.

You are not wrong there Gary! Mine was terrible - mind you if the frame had been made of rope it might have flexed less!

Last time I rode in the snow I was a lot younger and a keener to ride in any weather. These days I pick and choose when to ride and in what weather. This is of course unless on a GMU when there are no choices other than bloody wet!!!!

Last time I saw the Royal Enfield’s I was looking for a new bike, but the quality of the finish and lack of horse power put me off.
I know they are made in India but my thoughts were if ou want to make inroads into the UK market then those just don’t/won’t do it.

Adrossan is nowhere near John O'Groats, but then that’s not a modern RE which I’m talking about.
    Nice bike HO.
