Just bought a solo seat for Speedy and was told it was a straight replacement for the standard seat. However it does not seem to be a direct on/off replacement. The standard seat has a fixing prong that you release with the pull handle but the solo seat just has a bolt supplied apparently to go onto that same fixing. Any ideas anyone??
Different style of saddle but I can see where it has to go so will remove the existing latch. Thanks.
Nothings easy for me. Can’t get one of the bolts out and looks like I’ve ruined the head by trying. Any suggestions?

If I remember correct they have a small nut on underneath which is very difficult to get to as its on top of tyre, so very tight but I got a very small well fitting spanner on mine and managed to use some locking mole grips on the top, DD is correct the catch has to be removed and shows a bolt hole you use direct, (If I remember correctly )

Thanks DD. I will give it a try and the dealer will be my last resort. Trouble is I am no mechanic. Things I touch seem to always go wrong. Hence the new bikes not older ones. I will have a go tomorrow and report back to you.
As well as above recommended tools from DD I always find a cold can is a welcome friend. Take it slow my friend
You were right TEZ, there are two nuts underneath. Trouble is I can not get my hand on there to get a spanner onto them and my extension sockets don’t get it at the right angle. I think I will have a go at taking the rear mudguard off as it appears to be only six bolts. That will enable me to get easy access to both sides and hopefully free it off. Your thoughts?
No I had a good look and they are not captive. The one that I managed to loosen was still a little loose. The centre fixing which will take the bolt for the solo seat is captive. Thanks anyway.
Your spot on Bry They are not captive, and you wiggle your hand in I did it from the left side of bike it was very awkward but I got it done, you could wrap a thick cloth up and put it under the edge of the rear mudguard and use a jack to raise it slightly, or use it to support the rear and let your rear tyre down in order to get yourself more space, if your putting it off for any time then give it a spray with WD to help Ps the mudguard is a pain in the arse to remove looks easy but once you remove any of the three bolts on the side supports of the mudguard itself its a pain to run them in again without feeling there cross threaded or about to snap !!!! when I did that when fitting my tow bar it took forever running in a few threads and running them back out each time for fear of shearing them, I think it must be a factory thing type of bolt or captive lock nut type of thing that seems to make you think there cross threaded and feel as though there about to shear off. take your time be careful but you can do it for sure, If I can you can believe me, Dont give up, you can do it mate.
Thanks for the advice TEZ. How can such a simple add on become so tricky? I am beginning to wonder if I really want a solo seat. A very good buddy of mine is a brilliant mechanic so I shall show him at the weekend and see what he suggests. I know it’s a bit defeatist but getting my local dealer to sort it out is becoming quite an attractive solution. I really appreciate your help. Thanks.
Happy ending . Managed to get the bolt filed down and removed at last. Fitted a fender rack that I used to have on my Magna and the jobs a good ‘un. See pics. Thanks for al your help and advice guys. Really appreciated.
