I have had my Street Triple since new in 2013 and I do love it but thinking of upgrading.
However I've heard rumours of a new Speed Triple in 2018 on one of the motorcycle channels.
I don't particularly want to be trading up for a bike that is going to be out of date in 6-12 months.
The Speed Triple defo needs updating in my opinion but would be a good step up from the Street if no new bike is coming.
    Anybody else heard anything?

    Cheers

    Wayne

MCN have rumored there will be a change, personally I would guess they're likely to be mostly of the electronic variety.
The new dash on the Street Triple has been well received so expect that to migrate to the Speed.
Possibly upgrades to engine modes/traction control/ABS (cornering)
Semi-active suspension (similar to Ducati Skyhook) to give a more compliant ride on our crap roads perhaps,..... although not being a tourer the pillion/luggage adjustments side of it are a bit superfluous.
    Full LED headlights may be?
Can't see them doing much to engine, or bodywork as they've only just been updated.

I'm with Col_C on this one. Engine changes are unlikely so soon. 2020 is not so far away so it sounds more reasonable to wait until then to make a major engine overhaul and comply with EURO5 in the process.

I've heard from an ex journo and triumph employee much the same:
No significant, of any in real terms changes to engine, suspension, brakes or bodywork, as current model
    Is far too new.
Most likely changes are Different colour schemes, possible engine re map which is prinanly more to do with the clocks being changed to similar display as the street.
Personally, I hate digital displays for my speed and revs, prefer clocks with an additional LCD info display.
Just buy the current model, lots of great nearly new ones for sale and it's a fantastic bike, I love it, makes me grin much more than my ZZR1400

Could it be an updated Sprint or Trophy? Those are aging models and if I'm not mistaken, not EURO4 compliant.

Great! Looking forward. I wonder if it will still be made at Hinckley, though.

First pix of 2018 ST on test show it with a unpainted silver cylinder head, possible reason could be new cams and valve/head work to give it more top end power along with the new 765 dash.

Happy day when triumph competes with BMW and if they released a new s3 that went head to head with the s1kr I think it would sell as soon as hit the floors.

I was in my a dealer last month and they said an updated Triple was arriving in 2018 and there would be some very good deals on their demo bikes.

Reckon they will put it on a diet? Less weight and same power would be good.

RS is a huge possibility, new dash and up down Q shift along with cornering ABS are already being used on other Triumphs so should be on it, lighter wight another possibility but not by much as old engine is so heavy, lighter wheels n exhaust and of course the new cylinder head that shows up in pic's and confirmed by a harder exhaust note could release up to 25 bhp with a raised rev limit :)
