    Newbie here.
    Riding a 2001 Triumph Legendstien.
Custom bike with Trophy forks, wheels, brakes and redesigned seat.

Rebuilt the carbs with larger jets and new mixture screws and balanced the carbs. Opened up the airbox with a 11/2 inch hole opposite existing hole.

Having trouble with cold starts when temps drop below 60-65.

Need recommendation for mix screw adjustment to correct the problems.
Once warmed up, I get good response throughout the RPM spectrum.

Always keep the bike on a battery maintenance charger.

    Tactical Tom

Yep, main jets replaced with larger and yes has idle mix adjustments on all three carbs.

Popping the throttle open a few times doesn't seem to make any difference in the hard starts.

As the carbs don't have accelerator pumps opening the throttle wont help .......

I would start with 2.5 turns out from closed with the idle screws
If you have or can borrow a Colourtune plug you will find it helpful with the initial setup
Is the choke cable set up correctly ?
Have you checked the float heights ?
Did you replace the std filter ?

    Welcome, Tom.:)
At the risk of stating the 'bleeding obvious', have you used the choke/enriching lever when trying to start the bike? Indeed, is it working?:worried:
60-65 degrees is positively balmy at this time of year!
And most of the inmates within these hallowed portals are also positively barmy:eek:, as you will no doubt discover!:laughing:

Yep, carb fuel line filter cleaned out, float height checked and at 17 mm,
    choke set and working fine.

Need to know what direction to turn idle mix screws to correct hard start.
They are currently at 2.0 turns out.

Take them out to 2.5 turns out that should improve things but how much depends on the jet / orifice in the carbs, you could end up out further still but as I said its suck it and see as you are the one making the adjustments.
