Hi all. Anyone doing the Dave Curnow memorial ride this Sunday 20th August. Meet up is between 09.00 and 10.00 at Cornwall College Car Park at Tolvaddon, near Camborne. They are expecting 2-300 bikes I believe, for what should be a scenic cruise around west Cornwall. All proceeds to Dave's regimental charity which is Care for Casualties. Then on 10th September we have the big ride out. The 30th Martin Jennings memorial ride, which this year is going to be biggest ever with around 1600 bikes expected to take part, raising money for the Cornwall Hospice Care and Little Harbour Childrens Hospice. Its £5 per bike, regardless of whether you have a pillion. The ride out starts in Truro at the Eastern park and ride site. It will be open early, so get there for around 9.00 ish to see the spectacle of so many bikes. I did it last year and it is a fantastic day, with crowds lining the route which is usually around 70 miles long.To get a flavour of the ride just search Martin Jennings ride on Youtube! If your down in Cornwall when these rides are on you may want to think about coming along.
The wifey and I are moving down to St Austell in a few weeks so would be keen to support such events, we both ride triples, she has the 675R plus I have the matching 1050 to keep her happy.(any excuse to justify moving from a standard speed) anyway we will want to come to these events and other places like minded people go to cafes, meets etc, so if you have time to let us have some info that would great, cheers Woody
