SWMBO bought some of Morrisons own brand a while back. She didn't like the smell too much - it ended up in me shed!! Phew ... that was almost 69p wasted!! Or was it 79p?? She's happy with Mr Sheen at a quid though.

So I bought half a dozen lol.
smell not too bad either. GT85 smells nice to me but hey!!! way to dear.
Harpic too for the pipes was at 75p!!

Mr sheen lemon reminds me of stuff spreyed on our dog when she was on heat, so avoid anything lemon incase I use the wrong can.

What size cans are those Mick? Over here I can't find any WD at reasonable prices.

Well assuming that's the size of cans on offer it sounds like a really good deal.

I've just tried to find Costco in France and they seem to operate like a club??? You pay 36€ per year and then you have access to their offerings. The only appear to have 1 site in France at the mo' but are planning 10 more.

Have you done much business with Costco and are they worth paying to join ?

The problem with Costco is not getting carried away. It is the one place I love to shop!

 

It is basically a purchasing cooperative. You pay a membership fee and earn a dividend according to how much you spend. There are different membership rates and dividends (lower fee, less divvy!) and the biggest factor is proximity. Less than once a month is probably not worthwhile but their food is good quality as is their own brand (Kirkland) stuff.
If the one 15 miles S of Paris is accessible to you, I'd say take a recce as they allow a guest 'gander'. You can decide if their goods and prices suit. My Michelin Pilot Activs were bought and fitted/balanced at Costco Edinburgh for less than any online retailer.

 

We have had family membership for 20 years and use Costco regularly.
There are two levels of membership, standard or executive which both require subscription per annum.
Plan to spend a lot and executive membership can be more beneficial with 2% cash back rewards.
Great food, great jewellery and gifts, reasonable range of clothing, furniture, tools, tyres, wines, spirits etc.
If you only have one site in France and you are having to travel a fair distance, probably not worth joining yet for you, wait until you have a branch within sensible travelling distance.

yes. I always buy the 5ltr container with the free trigger action container. much more economical.

 

I use Kerosene,diesel or similar. Add Kero to your bike wash/detergent when washing the bike. Adjust the qty to suit the grunge level. I find 20 to 30 ml in a 10 / 15 ltr bucket is good for a moderately mucky wheel, its also generally good for the painted surfaces.

None if you use the bucket mix method and keep the mix sensible. Can get into places you don't want it too if you use sponge/cloth soaked in kero/dieso and you aren't careful.

 

All sounds a bit like a smelly nasty way of cleaning a bike Capt ?
I think I'll stick with my WD40

 

WD40 is more likely to get in where you don't want it to as it's a dispersing agent, funny how people ignore the old cleaning remedies and will try new un proved ones. My Dad taught me to wash cars with kero or such added in small quantities. It's never hurt anything doing it that way.

 

My Grandad was a keen fan of vinegar and used it for cleaning nearly everything.
I remember watching him do the house windows with vinegar and brown paper, cleanest windows I have ever seen.
