Packing up to come home from holiday on Saturday we found part finished bottles of white and rose left over from the family bbq the night before. To save space we decanted them to one bottle... I know. But it doesn't taste too bad, and in any case diesel would do right now to dull the senses considering I'm back to work tomorrow.:sob:

Last night shared a bottle of Crabbies Alcolic Ginger Beer with the missus, sat on that bench, looking out over this......

Used to visit the Glenfiddich distillery often, usually as part of a 20+ group of horse and carriage drivers. The boss of the place would bring out a huge silver platter with 2 bottles and 20-odd glasses. My missus took full advantage of what was on offer. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

A bit too much Jamesson's. Got told today my contract is not being extended due to cost cutting (I was expecting it after the shite half year results announced this week) so I'm back on the job market. Par for the course for us contractors but I was really hoping this one would take me up to Christmas.

Tonight I am mainly drinking 1.5 ltrs of "2014 Chateau La Rose Gadis" - a very nice Bordeaux that goes well with paté and cheese and just about everything else tbh. Was a birthday pressie last week from a pal with excellent taste.

Sorry to hear that Sir Trev, short term contracts are becoming more common due to the ever increasing hassle of employment legislation and forecast uncertainty.
Don't know what line of work you are in but it may be worth signing up to 'Linked In' if you are not already, many vacancies are posted on there that you may not normally be made aware of.

Thanks all. I'm a bean counter so know how to squirrel away funds for the in between times and set my day rate accordingly. Most finance teams are minimal now so any projects or changes need a short term extra pair of hands so work has been reasonable for the years I've been in this boat. It's risky for sure but I get a much nicer variety of work than if I'd stayed on the perm side which stops me getting bored.
