I am lead to believe if you heat it it comes off easily and if you wet it it goes on easily?

Don't laugh. Rode all the way to Wales in the dry. Got to Wales heading to fishguard and the heavens opened. Rode over a hundred miles through some of the worst weather i have ever ridden. Over 10 miles of solid traffic with dick heads that thought that changing lanes while texting was OK.. Strong side winds and fog:confused: rivers on the road , I had never seen fog and wind at the same time :(. It was the longest and most tiresome ride I had ever had. Scotland was a doddle compared to yesterday. Glad to say im in Fishguard safe. Glad I had my TT100 wellies :p

    The joys of motorcycling!
Mindst you being stuck in a car in 10 miles of traffic is no fun either.
    Let's hope you enjoy Fishguard.

Sorry, just seen this and it's done....Wasn't totally straight forward though. Managed to break the tip when trying to push one of the rivet link pins out. Ended up using an angle grinder to grind the pin ends off. Loads of sparks
    !
Now need to buy a new chain breaking and riveting tool, any recommendations?

I went to put on Heli-tape and tank pad only when I started the bike the throttle was sticking a bit so oil the cables and regreased the grip ( which was dry) and everything good again.
The heli-tape went on easily, wet your hands and the tank and the tape, both sides and keep everything wet, and its good to use even peeling back and reapplying when needed
The new pad looks the dogs. I had put on a transparent one, the problem is it showed every mistake in application where as a design doesnt show where you touched the glue etc.

Early morning ride to Lee on the Solent. USS George HW Bush is moored in Stokes Bay cos it's too big to fit in Portsmouth Harbour!

I know a good chippie in Lee on the Solent. Spent nine months working at HMS Sultan just round the corner from there and living in the Holiday Inn at Fareham during the week so getting out and about was a must.

Just been in my garage to start checking my bike over ready for the weekend and the Yorkshire pudding rally :grinning:
Started by putting the tow bar on then tyre pressures which are holding pressure after what happened the other week the day before the GMU ???
Then spotted the stickers I got from havit (cheers Wayne) and got sidetracked

    IMG_0333.JPG IMG_0332.JPG Stickers first!....checks later eh??
