An idea that might be of interest, after the turnout of the last gmu we should consider a 'retro' group ride out and and adventure group maybe to the Alps.
Possibly a fast group too for triples and similar?? Comments please?

Jez, it was a seperation on the wind/ comfort factor.
That Chinese thingy I've got did many sections of motorway effortless at 90-100mph riding with making progress easy over the pond but on the lines of arse plank seats and wind neck ache the old Twin may not Win!!

I'll take my Tiger so the bigger-bike lot don't have to 'make progress' to keep up with my whimpy Street Twin.

I'm up for that. I would prefer the Eiffel/Moselle region but anywhere will do. I'd just go at my own pace and meet up wherever and whenever at the end of the day. I only did last Saturday's ride as I got up late on Sunday and I rode faster than I normally would. I prefer to ride slower most of the time and appreciate the scenery more with the odd blast thrown in to get the circulation going.

By the way, I don't think for one minute that Eric is suggesting this as a replacement for GMU2018 but as an extra.

The only problem - Foreigners !!! It's bloody full of them over there, and the daft buggers drive on the WRONG side of the road. I feel sorry for them, they can't even speak proper, probably because they think what their going to say then have to translate it into french, german, etc, before they speak !!!!!:p:laughing::sob:

Brilliant roads this side of the water, showed you a taster at the borders, gets even better once your past Loch Lomond

Undeniably true. Applecross, Torridon, island hopping from Stornoway to Barra. The trick is to pick late May or early Sep when we seem to enjoy more stable weather and fewer anticyclones off the Atlantic!

Fwiw I'd be happy to stay in Bellingham again for one meet up in 2018. Already thinking of August Bank Holiday (English variety) this year in Bellingham Bunkhouse to chance seeing those roads we did in dry-ish conditions.
