Well cricket has finished early so have an extra day to get up to Scotland thank god!! Leaving Kimberly tomorrow for Lockerbie via Yorkshire dales and Lake District! Thunder storms forecast for Wednesday! Whoop bloody whoop!
I thought that was the plan anyway lol already downloaded all my routes to memory for all the pubs and food shops.
Mines is slightly grubby at the moment, will decide if she gets the full monty or a quick face wipe on Thursday when weather reports are a bit more reliable as we get closer. It'll be what it'll be. Come rain or shine, be a grand couple of days out on the bike, no missus, no kids, no work and plenty of beer, banter and talking bollox. Happy Days
The quality of 72hr+ forecasting for all the £M spent on computers, modelling etc., is no better than 50yrs ago. Bellingham is 70 miles from me as the crow flies and weather in the hills is local anyway.....it can hiss down on one side and be dry on the other. Your best bet is the rainfall radar on the morning!! I use it all the time. At this range I expect the odd light shower from the back of the Atlantic front blowing through on Wed/Thu. Nothing to get anxious about!
Totally agree with Callumity, check it on the day, But to be honest I'm thinking now of bringing the trailer !! was originally packing light hence the bunkhouse place, nowt to carry was the thinking of that day - Now I'm thinking wet gear, More Beer, extra kit etc not forgetting the bacon and eggs which would have been purchased from local Co Op but if were all held captive by flooding AARRHHHH the northern summer !! - you never get used to it as its always unpredictable, But really its never as bad as you first thought, Once there beer in hand and with friends and fellow bullshitter's present its going to be all worth it. RAIN WHAT RAIN - Anyway I had the foresight to buy a hoodie (evil laugh) lol
Tiger has been given a quick wipe down with Poundland baby wipes and a bit of polish with Mr Sheen to remove the bugs. Looks fine to me - it has to spend two nights in Sheffield and one in Bradford before it arrives at Kielder so not that fussed really. It's not work and it doesn't involve the other half so let's enjoy!
Been chatting to Ron as our little BBQ isnt up to it Seeing about hiring a gas small catering one at the minute which will go in the back of the car or van probably cost about £3.00 a head to hire so that would keep me in beer for the weekend........just
Watching TV the other night and they were talking about kielder Forest , releasing LYNX cats in the wild there or something. Looked Nice. Some farmer giving out about his Sheep, typical Farmer never happy.
There's a Chinese takeaway just round the corner Just in case there's a balls up You know.....just in case
