hi all, I'm new to the forum, so be gentle! I've been riding bikes for too long to admit, but haven't ridden in the past 3 years following a serious bike accident. I'm feeling confident enough to start again, and should be receiving compensation in the near future (I know, I know). I've had a speed four in the past, couple of Harley's and a buell more recently. I really fancy a new speedy (R or S, not fussy), but was wondering whether to wait until next years models are announced in case Triumph make any further changes to the model. Any thoughts or advice?

    Welcome to the forum Tony.
Test ride a few before you decide.
There are some tidy 2nd hand bikes for sale on the forum from time to time so worth watching out for.

Apparently the new speed is getting the dash from the street, i.e. the TFT all singing all dancing one.

I'd sort of figured that changes, if any, would more than likely be limited to colour schemes and possibly the tft screen. I've seen a couple of 2014 speedys which I like the look of, but I've been advised that the new models are massively superior. Having said that, I've never owned or ridden a bike with traction control / riding modes, but following my accident and subsequent (partial) loss of use of my right shoulder and upper arm, I figure anything that provides extra safety can only be a good thing!

Was told by the sales guy when I booked mine in for service, don't know when it's gonna happen tho
Hello Tony Mitchell, fellow Barnsley lad. Get yourself along to Team Roberts at Conisbrough, they've got a few new model speed r's in, the sales guy, Paul is getting one on demo very soon, I rode his 2016 Speed R last year while mine was being serviced. They'll be able to give you the info as to when the changes are happening and get you out on one now.

I got my speed four from Team Roberts when they first came out, always happy with their service, so I'll definitely be going back there. Nice to have a fellow Barnsley lad on here, at least I won't need an interpreter!
