To the experts, does this look about right? Never balanced carbs before so just following the Haynes book of lies which states between 127 and 152 Hg's @ 1000rpm.

Never having done that either, I would say that it is looking good.
However, for my next trick I would take it up to something like 2-2500rpm and then see if the readings are (almost ) the same. That would tell you if the throttles are in sync or not - well it would by my reckoning.
In the good old days of Amal Concentric carbs on a '69 Bonneville, I would set and balance the carbs at tickover speed and then balance the throttle slides moment of opening using a pair of matchsticks (the longer the better - what air filter?) each one lodged under a throttle slide to see which moved first and then make the appropriate adjustments.
    Well, it worked for me!
Others may have a more technical solution which will undoubtedly make my brain hurt!:worried:

Took it up to about 3000 rpm and held it there, two cylinders were identical, third one one notch out but all settled back to the same. Didn't fancy pulling things apart any further, so it'll do for me for now. I'm sure a few more miles after its 5 year rest will probably clear a few cobwebs out.
