If you ride to Bellingham, then keep going for about 100 miles, you get to a wee town called Dumfries ! See you at MaccyD's about 10:30 ish ????

For those of you heading north on the A1, Squires Cafe Bar just off the A1/A63 junction would be a good place to rest up and get fed and watered etc.:yum

Might even be there myself if you don't behave yourselves!!:worried:

Sorry, you are in fact Correct. The Plan for the Celtic Gathering are indeed ;-

    11:30 at Dumfries MaccyD's

Gloria & Andy are coming to mine, DougieD and GaryM meeting Lucas60's place and then two teams converging on Macdonalds, our ancestral clan castle, just outside Dumfries on A76, Glasgow Road, and meet Steve Lovatt.

Then take a nice scenic bimble, through beautiful Sunny South Scotland countryside to arrive in Bellingham in the afternoon. About 100 miles, with a wee stop or two. Proper bimble, with possibly a wee peg scraping at some point!

@steve lovatt - come join us, more than welcome pal , not be going back along A75, so you'll not be just retracing your steps back to Gretna, heading up to Eskdalemuir, Langholm, Newcastleton.

@Sprinter - you meeting up with Crispey or coming down to meet us ????

I was thinking of going up the A1 to just north of Scotch Corner then there's a B road that leads to the A68 which more or less gets you to Bellingham. I'm happy to meet at Squires but I can't say much for the breakfasts there to be honest.

Maybe if we can get a Southern lot together we could meet at Squires with some Northern lot?

No, missing Gretna, A75 is not the best road, better to venture off it. There was a bike shop in Langholm, dealer for Enfield and sold a few Triumphs too, not sure he's still there ???? Next nearest is Carlisle or Newcastle.

I'm planning to come over to the UK 2 weeks or so before the GMU and will be setting off from Bolton Lancs. If anyone is coming that lives near there maybe we could travel up together.
    Cheers

The food seemed to go downhill after Harry Weston - who was a butcher by trade - decided to sell up after many years in charge:(. Not been there myself for over a year and a half, so not sure how things are there these days. Still seems pretty popular though!:)

That bike shop (A7 Motorcycles or something similar) was there last September when we were on holiday in the area. Not saying that it still is, but yes, they did have a fair few used Triumphs in stock.
