i think clinical is the best word to describe it,i think i prefered it when it wasn't so clean and tidy looking
Agree, much easier beforehand, But change is inevitable and never easy to begin with. Just hoping I get my head round all the changes, where do you see easily that you have a PM
Not sure about this new forum, Hell I thought the charm of this site was Old School, its a shame when things have to change not always for the better, I'm not bothered about other tools or options just like the ones we had for instance ALERTS - I could see how many I had, I could look through each in turn that way I kept in touch with the topics I liked Now I get Alerts it shows how many I access them and it dont show any number again. I don't need subject picture's for each topic, much preferred the standard list we had. IS IT JUST ME ?
Tez if you highlight your avater (top right of screen) if there is a red circle you then click on Alerts..or maybe it will be conversations
The good news is that if you look at the bottom left of the screen you can select the old style However this one is the style that will be kept up on updates etc... stick around as it's quite good! Especially on mobile.
WTF???? Not impressed, leave things comfortable if they work. I thought this forum was above all that not like eBay for example which keeps changing formats and sending me frustrated.
you must be doubly unimpressed i've changed back to the old style (bottom left like Rob has pointed out)
I agree Tez, the old one appeared to be far more simple, easy to navigate and less 'fancy'....... sometimes less really is more! BTW Who decides that the forum has to change? It can't be the forum members as I don't recall a vote / pole on changing the format of the forums / sit
To be honest I think that decision sits with whoever pays to keep the site running, we help in buying and even in certain terms sponsoring but its whoever keeps this site paid for THANKS ADMINISTRATOR - ROB INFO MUCH APPRECIATED MATE.
Thanks Rob for the info, wished I had known of that option a few hours ago think it caught a few of us off guard although I just read you did forewarn of changes on the way but I for one am thankful you also kept the old format as a choice. Thanks again.
I thought I'd logged onto a new forum at first. I didnt see any communication or warning that it was going to change. I preferred the old style which I will switch back to now I know its still there. New style is a bit flash for me, but then again I dont pay for the site which is probably why no consensus of opinion was sought. Its the people on this forum that makes it great!
Thanks rob, the option to change format is great, I think it'll keep all members happy, well for a while anyway, til we are away for a few days and forget how to use it!
Unfortunately, things do have to change. Currently prefer the old style, but I'll give this a couple of weeks to settle in, then see if I have to resort to old timers / comfort blanket setting. Good work Rob, we do appreciate you keep it up-to-date, honestly.
Ok, have calmed down enuff to retype what previously took me 1 hr to type. I admire the replies above who found time to say what they mean better than me. I was initially saying as Sooty said, bye bye everyone, bye bye.. I too find Technology frustrating. I'm not interested, even tho I am quite computer literate, I like to keep things simple. I don't appreciate change for change sake. I'm only here to share the motorcycle code of friendship and helping out other riders, and really good humour. This means far more to me. Of course Technology advances, but I wish to stay in control of what I do and how I do it, so I've changed my mind and am sticking around for a while longer albeit on the earlier version software..heh heh bit like my old Bonnie eh!! Yer gotta laff, yes Nurse the tablets are working.. someone else can have the padded walls room.
