Sorry mate it was just a joke. Some of the folks around that area were not very welcoming to "White Settlers". It didn't bother me but it upset the Mrs a fair bit. The conversation with locals would often turn to "the price of houses since you lot arrived" to which I would reply "and who was it selling these properties at inflated prices? English or Scottish owners?" Prejudice is often not fact-based, but 'justified' by supposed facts.
never had that problem mate not interested in houses and what price they are or how other people are its all about the bikes for me
Stayed here all my life and what people forget is how long these houses were for sale and home owners trapped with negative equity. All the ' white settlers' moving up was like the cavalry coming to the rescue setting people free and doing up properties

I'll refrain from mentioning that my English ex and her family settled in Aberdeen way back before later coming back south to save on summer wear woolly hats and mittens. I so loved they roads up those parts.
