Not since i have sorted the cam timing out this afternoon, will check again this week, have carbtune kit, used it many times cant recommend highly enough.
Yeah I've got Carbtune too mate....Done it on all my past bikes It's amazing how few people balance their carbs/throttle bodies but it can make so much difference
Still waiting for a few more bits for the bike before I fire it up,I used them cos I had so much trouble finding info on jet sizes etc. hoping to fire up mid week if all goes well I,ll share all the info with you, happy you've sussed out the problem
De rusting the tank,it's soaking in white vinegar as we speak and I,m waiting on new leads, should be here Tuesday
https://1drv.ms/v/s!AmPBIHz903-Ch1OSySMXINGOIWzY try this it's the second start up after 3 years the sigma6 kit is defo worth the money I'm grinning like a cheshire cat
main jets pilot jets needle clips drill bits and lots of info and a back up service if it doesn't work, I can send you all the gunf I got with mine but I think your running mikuni carbs, mine are keihins you could probably buy all the stuff on ebay for about £30-£40 but for the extra £25 you'll get peace of mind and save a lot of hassle with experimentation etc. if you are running keihins let me know and I'll send all the gumph
Hi yep got Mikunis, have put all new jets, needles etc in and have larger main jets so will probably see how it goes, looking to get set up on rolling road when get it road worthy so hopefully they will be able to fine tune it. Think which ever jet kit you get would benefit from final setting up on RR
Oops found a bit of a daft mistake, still running rough under throttle even though had carbs of and checked everything, bear in mind i have stripped and replaced just about everything, i noticed that the carb mounting rubbers tilt the carbs up slightly causing the float bowl to be tilted from the horizontal, checked manual nothing to show which way should go. Turned them around and the float bowl sits horizontally !! dohh !!!
As soon as noticed it last night, light came on !! swapped over although to late to start up as neighbours have youngsters in bed and bikes LOUD !! Will give it a try later when get home
DOH!!! Should have remembered that one from a different forum (although in my defence m'lud, the symptoms were a bit different)! Sorry!!
well was running okish then one carb started pouring fuel out beginning to lose the will at moment. going to strip carbs again tomorrow check floats in some hot water see if any leaks then full build again if no joy after that may track down another set of carbs that are ok and put all the new jets and parts i have on them
yes the first one is giid confirms i have them on the right way up as you can see v slight angle on the rubbers
Good to see you sorted it, The inlet rubbers are like that to stop carbs hitting the single spine frame, gives them a bit more space. Be interesting to see if that has sorted the running, Fingers crossed
