Hi forum , i am new to this group and any online groups ever for matter of fact , i have recently passed my theory and done my CBT , next i will be doing my full licence very soon. i want to get a street triple 675 R as my first bike i have been riding bikes for a few years on and off , and mainly off road, can anyone tell me is this a good bike for a new rider as most of the reviews on youtube seem very good and say its easy to ride ? i will look forward to your replies
Hi Meile and welcome in. The Street Triple R is a high performance so I suppose the question is, do you want a high performance machine as your first bike? It is one of Triumph's best sellers so that should tell you it's a good bike, whether it is suitable for a new license holder is not so easy to answer.
hi thebiglad , thanks for your reply i think i do want that kind of bike , i do not want to get anything below a 600cc as i would get bored to quick i think , i think this would be a good bike for a long time , and has reviews that say its a good everyday bike , what are your thoughts on it being a good everyday bike ? , and thanks again for your reply
Welcome in and good luck with your test. I really think you have answered your own questions with your own research there, test rides once youve passed is the only way youre going to know its totally right for you.
thank you for your replies , i will definitely be having a test drive and i will be passing my test thanks for the good luck wishes
It's an excellent everyday bike Meile, quick, agile, light, maneuverable, good looking, everything you'll just love it !!!!
Welcome Meile. Mate's a new rider. He went straight from passing test to buying Street Triple. So long as you ride within your capabilities I am sure you will love it. Def recommend you test ride first. It's funny how when most of us round here were in the first flush of youth a 600 was considered a proper big bike.
thanks for the replies , yeah i think it is a very good choice i have done research and it seems to be a good choice, and i love life so i will be taking my time on it to a degree , i cant wait to get some miles under my belt , i have been quoted £699 for my full bike test , is this a normal price ?
Welcome to the forum Miele As the other guys have said, test drive as many as you can and keep an open mind. Good luck with your test and whatever you decide on, ride safely.
Hi n welcome, good luck with your test and look for one with all the factory extras as there will be plenty for sale soon.
Hi and welcome. STR is a great wee bike, goes as fast as you can ever need, handling is fantatstic and you can slap a tailpack on and tour. I found it quite small, otherwise I would have been seriously tempted. See cheap early R's and fancy one for myself. If you get one with high pipes, strap your sleeping bag down properly, wouldn't want it to fall on to them pipes and catch fire !!!! (I know someone on here, that didn't )
Is that figure of £699 for your test to include the 4 days of intensive training as well? If so it's probably about right - I think mine was about £600 three years ago.
Welcome buddy. Just as others have said the 675 is a great bike. Get to know the bike and your capabilities before gunning that motor because they are quick and can catch you out
Hi and welcome! As the other chaps already said: I think it'll be hard to find a better bike if you love it quick, good looking and trustworthy... Let us know, how you decided. Cheers!
