Its that time again when I get a shit load of horrendous nuisance calls and seems to all come in bunches. What have I done recently?? Well, I think I've sussed it. I've got some van insurance quotes recently and I have noticed every time (which is regular) I go on compare the market even though I tick the box 'don't ever faakin call me' I get plenty of nuisance calls but not related to insurance. I can only think that all the personal details get sold from these sites as the callers always know my name. Anyone with similar experience?
Not got it myself but there could be a female version of me on here soon if Gloria can do it I wanna have a go! The screen name of 'E R I C A' feels strong and masculine enough!
I know who is to blame. My sister-in-law worked for one of those catalogue companies, Great Universal Stores or some such, as a graduate trainee. As the internet and email was taking off she, still in her late twenties, had the bright idea (or at least helped work up the idea) of packaging up and selling their customer details in electronic form. She traveled the world marketing the product. I have an idea it ended up with EXPERIA or some such. Anyway, they later made her a director with huge share options and she was able to retire as a very very comfortable millionaire aged fifty.
I allways put one digit of my number wrong if I want their quote I'll phone them..if your number ends in 916 it's probably my fault your getting these calls
Hi Gloria, .......I just knew you were listening..........why did'nt you talk back to my heavy breathing?....... Cheers, Huffy puffy dido
Gloria, ....never fear......I want to go out with a 'bang'!........ .......I've already told Mrs dickydido that I want to be shot buy a jealous husband at 94!......... .....still waiting for you big boy!......, (well that's what Dozers Dad, Crispy and Mr Orange told me to call you!)....... Cheers, dickydido
I bought a screw driver from Halfords the other week and when paying they asked for my email address. I politely told them where to go. My car is a 10 year old Subaru. I'll never, ever spend money on a new Subaru and the local Subaru dealer recently called me and asked for my email address because they apparently want to be greener as sending me shite by post is killing the planet. I told them also where to go. I get more spam calls at home than genuine calls. I'd scrap the home phone but my elderly parents think that calling a mobile is black magic.
Also when at Argos I bought a filing cabinet and they wanted my email in case I lost the receipt for warranty issues!! Silly basteds!
Only had this number for 5 weeks, and after 4 I got some person with a British Anzani accent (put, put, put) calling me about my accident claim! I suspect it came as a result of my Mrs signing up to a B&Q card!! When I get then I just tell them 'to fcuk off, parasite' and put the phone down! I've signed up to the TPS but that takes a few weeks to activate and wont work for off shore companies. As for un-solicited post, I usually put '1' on my address, trouble is so do other people, I've just moved from 1 Craigswood and got loads of post in other peoples names!! Not too bad here though at 35!
Part of me wants another email address like sendmoreshit@hotmail or just4shit@hotmail etc and see if shops/companies spot!
Same problem over here: I have Turk guys ringing my phone, calling me a Nazi all the time But since Mrs. Merkel has the same problem, I guess I feel flattered. But seriously: My 82 year old mum now got the third call telling her she won a BMW series 3. And she told the Indian lady: save your trouble, just send me ONE series 7 I thought, that was pretty cool...
Im sorry Dickydido, im flatered by your interest but it's little Ade for me . Maybe Mrs Dicky will buy you another new bike to keep your mind off me for a bit
