As my mate has ordered a Bobber - he decided to book a test ride and asked me along for my opinion - so I took a Street Cup out and then we swapped over. Chips for lunch on Poole Quay!

So the question to ask - which one having tried both? Is the bobber as user friendly as the street would be?

Sorry guys - only just got chance to post the pics before I had to go out. Back now so here goes. The Bobber is an absolute hoot to ride. Seating position feels really comfy to start with then after 20 mins I thought -"mmm not so comfy perhaps" but then it got comfy again and stayed that way.
It pulls like a train as you would expect with that 1200 lump, which revs higher than the T120 engine and develops more low down torque than in the Thruxton . It also weaves in and out of traffic and corners superbly making it as easy to ride around town as on the open road.
Not sure I'd buy one but I did enjoy riding it and yes I'll be honest the attention as well.
The street cup was a sweet little bike - I suppose it is to the Thruxton what the street twin is to the T120. Very chuckable round bends and fun but I probably wouldn't swap my SE for one. Even as a demo bike it's averaging 63 mpg so can't fault that! Not as quick as a Thruxton but as the sales guy said you can have more fun because you get to use all its power.

He'd been to Spain testing all the new models with the Triumph Dealers - he admitted that no one really knew why Triumph had bothered to make the Street Cup or where it fit within the current range. Apparently they all agreed after riding it that it made sense (hence the comment re usable power above) but if I'm honest I'd want the Thruxton.

Here's some taken in the showroom of the all black version, which I think looks better - the second picture should suit you sir! - and the Street Scrambler. (which I wanted to take out but someone had already booked it)

Still haven't decided if I like the bobber or not (I really did, but now not so sure), need to see in the metal and have a test ride. Big new Triumph Glasgow opening soon, so will take a run up at Easter for a test ride.

Sad state of affairs as the traditional shops, that smell of petrol and oil, are being replaced by clothing outlets that happen to sell bikes. There is a Harley dealer in Scottsdale (AKS Snottsdale, Snobsdale) that has a movie theater, wedding chapel, clothing, jewelry and some motorcycles. I hear it has other stuff but I would not bother with it. This plague is an International one.
