I saw this - https://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/mo...d/46354?r=GS&gclid=CPvFu97bstICFYoQ0wodMAMMEg I read a bit on this. It is as you say....it will keep it clean . Maybe I should spend one day cleaning the sprocket area front and back then install this unit because come summer I will putting some mileage on the bike
It's not like that MickEng.....me chucking money at her The only hobby and passion I have is my bike. You might laugh at this but I treat like a person. So when it comes to doing things on her, I try to do the best and if money isn't available then I wait till I save up. You know what I mean
Update..... Took the bike through town n then motorway. Worked through all the gears. No issues All good Thank you so much for your help
The workshop manual for my 2011 says upright with no extra weight and between 21 and 30mm... I know my Ducati manual said one figure and there was a different figure on the swingarm sticker :/ #confusion
Does that mean it's going to be a 2 man job..or can you put it on a paddock stand to adjust the chain? i've never adjusted the chain on mine yet as with having the scotoiler fitted it never seems to need adjusted
I'd put it on a paddock stand.... The way I see it all the bikes weight is still pressing down through the centre of the swingarm....but instead of the tyre pressing the ground the axle is pressing on the stand It won't be any heavier whereas on the side stand the suspension unloads a bit as there is less weight going straight down through the swingarm If that makes sense
Hmmmm. I adjusted it on the side stand. I need to find someone of my weight n get him to sit on the bike n check the slack
Sorry guys if I have caused any confusion with the chain adjustment. Side stand = okay Paddock stand = okay Somebody holding the bike upright = okay Centre stand = NO Sitting on the bike = NO
On my Ducati it was sidestand setup.... So I set it on the sidestand, put on paddock stand and measured what it was then and used that figure to always set it on the paddock stand
Hey lads don't worry too much because 21mm - 30mm is a fair old tolerance. Paddock stand is the best option because you can turn the rear wheel, but not everybody has one. Sidestand and move the bike to check in different areas if on your own.
Hi Jody, I've just noticed your helmet, dead smart that but don't be pulling any bank robberies with it on! lol
Also Abba stand = NO But once set up "to the book" the tension can then be re-checked on Abba stand and that figure used in future (safer and convenient).
